This is a first for me in all my years of fest attendance but something about this experience, even for a first time attendee like myself, spoke powerfully to my subconscious, transporting me back to the snow covered peaks and lush forests ringing the Main Stage or once again happily jostled like a roiling water molecule inside the late night tent (or "Boogie Dome" in veteran's vernacular). In most fundamental ways, this is a perfect festival, striking to the heart of the gypsy soul that makes one set up a temporary home away from home, finding kinship, kindness and carefree jubilation amongst folks who were once strangers but by fest's end have joined one's extended family. -- Jambase.com “I love High Sierra, enjoy Bonnaroo, tolerate others but can’t live without Summer Meltdown.” The Summer Meltdown is a grassroots music festival that has grown into something truly spectacular. Terra Roots Foundation in conjunction with Seattle rock band Flowmotion organize and operate the Meltdown and their many years of hard work to make the festival what it is today is quite evident. Having top-notch security, magnificent lighting, impeccable sound and the best hospitality crew on the planet, preparing home-cooked meals with local organic ingredients for the bands; the weekend-long festivities were very well organized and carefully thought out, each day flowing in perfect progression. The music schedule nicely matched the hour of the day, audience vibe and age group—crescendoing in all the right places and providing the ideal soundtrack to Meltdown life, morning, noon and night. Seattle PI - Feature: Flowmotion Building on the strong support of their loyal fan base in the
Northwest and all parts West, Flowmotion has been quietly toiling
away, perfecting its song craft and establishing solid cred as
first-class festival operators. Returning home to civilization after Summer Meltdown must be how
a space alien feels arriving upon Earth. The hustle and stress
of everyday life seems strange. I feel out of place amidst the
confusion, yearning again for the utopia of counterculture that
Flowmotion creates for one long weekend per year … and I
only experienced the middle half of the four-day fest! The music was rich and diverse, the details were well attended
to, and the people all left smiling.
