Welcome Back Slick Lasers to Meltdown 13!
Pretty lights and the dancing colors of magic in the trees, expect to see an arsenal of high powered lasers coming back to the late night scene at Meltdown on Friday and Saturday!
A few last minute additions to the Meltdown 13 line up, we’re happy to invite Moksha to the Sunday Meltdown Stage!
Mōksha [mōke-sha]- Las Vegas’ Secret Weapon
Explosive shows, filled with an arsenal of well-crafted material, have earned Moksha their reputation as Las Vegas’ secret weapon. This well-oiled machine is now emerging from the glitz and glamour of Sin City and quickly garnering a solid following of loyal fans on the West Coast. With guitar, keys, bass, drums, and horns, this unique blend of musicians lives and breathes in a deep pocket of funk rock. Swirling in subtlety, their music paints a sonic landscape that unfolds in the moment and feeds on the dynamic ebb and flow of audience and band interconnection. In other words, they will melt your faces.
Announcing Blake Lewis’ Return to Summer Meltdown Festival!
Lewis’ name should be familiar to all those old school Meltdown fans of the past, and for the newbies who are familiar with a little show called American Idol. The singer/songwriter/producer has earned the honor of performing for the First Lady, and has opened for performers like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Wyclef Jean, so it is with great excitement that we announce his return to Summer Meltdown this year.
Blake got his start with us back in 2005, at the old Sedro-Wooley Meltdown site under the name Kickshaw. He grew with us, attending Meltdown each year before his departure to American Idol, and then Los Angeles to pursue his music career. Blake will be filling in with Tweener sets between stages and is our host to Summer Meltdown.
For the past 7 years, Summer Meltdown has had the honor of helping support local area food banks with our annual Summer Meltdown Food Drive. This year we’re expanding that support with our Food Lifeline Virtual Food Drive! Also look for the tall yellow donation boxes on site.
Food Lifeline feeds hungry people. They stock the shelves and fill the tables of 276 food banks, meal programs and shelters throughout Western Washington. The 35 million pounds of nutritious food they secure from restaurants, grocery stores, farmers and manufacturers feeds 745,000 of our hungry neighbors every year. Thank you for opening your hearts and your wallets to help those less fortunate than ourselves!
In addition to Dumpstaphunk, we’re bringing in San Diego’s Vokab Kompany with their Hip Hop & Live Electronica. Another favorite from last year from Victoria BC – Current Swell will be returning to the Meltdown Stage, and finally, a Seattle favorite – Beat Connection and their side project “The Dip” will be added to the Meltdown 13 line up.
Schedules for all stages will be posted within the week. Stay tuned.
A sneak peak at Meltdown 13, we’ll be announcing our second round of bands with Meltdown Alumni the Quick and Easy Boys, True Spokes and Buzzbrump. Come down and join the Meltdown staff and volunteers as we celebrate the Meltdown 13 line up! We’ll have tickets for sale, and some various merch from last year at big discounts.
